Cartoon of the Week: American Gothic

Book One: 1870-1871, of A Figure from the Common Lot, came to its conclusion with this week’s episode. Honoré, loosely supervised, returns to the pursuit of his own interests, thwarting Broughton’s care to find him healthier quarters.
Chapter 5 of Inimical ended with Monday’s installment. Van Nest has given his oblique instructions; Mrs. Branstadt finds them a helper. A poem went up Tuesday: “Refuge of Scoundrels”. Wednesday, part two of the poetry series “Bride to Be”, wherein the title character tells her young kinswoman of her love, that bloomed on a note of challenge. Thursday’s Inimical began Chapter 6 with a coffee and cake afternoon, and the planting of suggestive seeds. In part twelve of “Are You Haunted” Lettie tells Rohdl her story, and Powell finds his memories conflated with those of the tunnel’s permanent residents. Last, on Saturday, another sampling of Yoharie. This time, the featured characters are Jeremiah Hibbler’s wife and the neighbor, Mat Busby.
Photos on my posts usually have a link to related information, sometimes serious, sometimes whimsical, sometimes in answer to a direct reference. Since people can be leery about clicking links, I include them here: what they are, what sites they point to.
